Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Midgard Realms collects, why, and who can see it. We run a public hall for Ragnarok Realms. We do not sell listings, we do not sell your data, and we do not charge to use the site.
Who we are
Midgard Realms (midgardrealms.gg) is a community hub for Ragnarok Online private-server communities, which we call Realms. The hall is operated by the Midgard Realms super admin and the MR stewards they appoint.
Midgard Realms is not affiliated with Gravity, Gravity Interactive, or official Ragnarok Online.
What we collect
Depending on how you use the hall, we may hold:
- Account data from email sign-up (name, email). Google and X are not used. Email is not shown on public profiles. Only the hall operator can see the list. Stewards cannot.
- Profile data you add: handle, display name, bio, region, locale, Discord handle.
- Realm listings submitted by owners, including name, website, Discord invite, rates, features, description, logo, banner, opening date, player cap, and a status endpoint URL.
- Contacts listed on a Realm page (name, Discord handle, role).
- Reviews, ratings, saved Realms, custom lists, follows, and linked character names.
- Messages sent through the hall.
- Reports you file about listings or people.
- Page-visit counts and coarse regional interest, so owners and stewards can see how a listing is found.
- Invite attribution: if you open a player's invite link, we remember their handle until you sign in, so we can credit them. We do not count clicks. We count one join per person — the first time you make an account or sign in after following that link.
- Technical session cookies needed to keep you signed in.
What we do not collect
We do not scrape game clients or Realm websites. If an owner pastes a status endpoint, we ping only that URL on a short interval to set the online badge.
We do not ask for payment information. There are no paid listings, featured slots, or pay walls.
Sign-in is email and password on this hall. We do not use Discord OAuth. A Discord handle is optional text you type on your profile or a listing.
What is public
Approved Realm pages, public lists, published news, and public profiles are visible without signing in. A public profile can show region, saved Realms, linked characters, and lists you made public.
Reviews show your display name and a link to your profile. Do not write anything in a review you would not put on a public wall.
What is not public
Pending listings and pending listing edits stay in the steward queue until they are approved or rejected.
Messages are between the people in the thread. The super admin can read all messages in order to handle abuse, impersonation, and steward work. MR admins do not get that power unless they are also the super admin.
Your email from sign-in is not shown on your public profile.
How we use this
To run the hall: accounts, listings, reviews, lists, follows, messages, and steward tools.
To keep Realms honest: approval queues, reports, and status badges.
To tell owners how their page is found: visit counts and regional interest. We do not sell this.
Who we share with
Email stays with the hall operator. Stewards do not see it. We do not sell the list.
Hosting and database providers that store the hall.
A Discord webhook, only if a steward turns it on and only for announcements they write.
We do not sell personal data. We do not rent the community list.
Cookies and sessions
We use a session cookie so you stay signed in. Locale is stored in your browser so the language you pick comes back. We do not run third-party advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
Account, profile, listings, reviews, lists, and messages stay while the hall is running and the account exists, unless they are removed for a policy reason or you ask us to delete what we can.
Page-visit records are aggregate enough to draw interest over time; they are not a dossier on a single visitor.
Your choices
You can browse without an account. You can edit your profile, unlink characters, unsave Realms, unfollow people and lists, and ask stewards to remove a review or a listing you own.
To close an account, message Midgard staff from the hall. We will remove or anonymize what we reasonably can. Public reviews already quoted by others may remain as text.
Children
The hall is not directed at children under 13. If we learn we hold an account for someone under 13, we will delete it.
Changes
Midgard Realms is in beta. This policy can move. Material changes will be posted in News. The date at the top of this page is the current draft.
